Support for Pajaro Valley Federation of Teachers’ Contract Negotiations
As of Monday, February 12, 2017
Whereas, Pajaro Valley Federation of Teachers (PVFT) has been negotiating for more than a year; and
Whereas, the beginning teachers’ salary is among the lowest in nearby districts; and
Whereas, in last year’s final budget PVUSD had $57.5 million in their ending fund balance but are only required to have 3% (about $7 million); and
Whereas, PVFT’s proposal would cost a total of $7 million per year;
Therefore, be it resolved, that the Cabrillo College Federation of Teachers supports PVFT’s quest for a fair contract with fair compensation.
