During the week of October 26th, faculty across the nation will participate in Campus Equity Week, a biannual national event designed to raise awareness around the issue of part-time academic labor in higher education. The heavy reliance on contingent labor in academia poses great threats to educational quality for students and academic workers’ rights. This is an opportunity to give the issue the attention it deserves.
CCFT’s Solidarity & Community Leadership Team, COPE, and Part-Time Committee is asking faculty to consider posting a flyer on your office doors and in your classrooms as a way to call attention to these important issues. The flyer contains select statistics and references to sources for further information.
